From finance and procurement to HR, IT, legal and corporate services, our business functions play a critical role in shaping a strong, resilient and inclusive Stantec.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compensation Consultant to join our Global Compensation team. This role offers the chance to influence reward strategy at a global scale, working closely with HR and business leaders to drive fair, competitive and transparent compensation programmes.

Based in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Warrington, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Compensation leadership team, you will lead and support a wide range of compensation‑related initiatives across the UK, Republic of Ireland and globally. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on reward programmes, policies and data‑driven decision‑making.

You will lead and contribute to projects such as pay equity analysis, annual salary reviews, short‑term incentive plans, salary structure design and broader reward programme development. Working collaboratively with HR Business Partners, business leaders and the global compensation team, you will ensure solutions are aligned to organisational strategy and local market needs.

This role combines technical expertise, data‑led insight and strong stakeholder engagement, offering exposure to complex challenges and meaningful strategic work.

Your Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders to solve complex compensation challenges and enhance reward programmes, policies, structures and tools
  • Provide expert consultation on job evaluation, pay analysis, market data and the application of compensation frameworks
  • Lead and support key compensation processes, including pay equity reviews, annual pay review cycles, incentive plans and salary range design
  • Contribute to global and regional pay transparency initiatives and compliance reporting across the UK and Republic of Ireland
  • Analyse the effectiveness and competitiveness of reward programmes, modelling financial impacts and recommending improvements
  • Develop and maintain compensation tools, data models and analytics to support informed decision‑making
  • Deliver and support compensation training for HR and business leaders

Your work will help ensure Stantec’s reward practices remain competitive, equitable and aligned with our values and long‑term strategy.

About You

You will bring strong technical compensation expertise, commercial insight and the confidence to influence at all levels. Ideally, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing reward programmes, policies and practices across multiple regions
  • Proven experience consulting with HR and senior leaders on job classification, base pay, incentives and reward strategy
  • Advanced understanding of compensation principles and best practice
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting large datasets and building robust data models
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence telling a clear story through data
  • Experience managing projects and working across multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and advise effectively
  • A high level of discretion, sound judgement and commitment to confidentiality
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Knowledge of global compensation legislation, pay transparency and equity requirements (highly desirable)

A degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, with significant experience in reward consulting or compensation programme design, is preferred.
