The Opportunity
Join our 2027 (Autumn) Graduate Programme as a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Cambridge office, where you'll be part of a market-leading Community Development discipline.
As a Stantec graduate, from the beginning of your career you will be developing design solutions to support the development of new communities across the entire Midlands and East of England. You will also collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your civil engineering expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment.
The Civils team are a group of passionate, talented and welcoming individuals with extensive expertise. The team works closely with a variety of colleagues, providing great exposure to the various disciplines within the company. You will be working in a modern office with a positive colleague ethos, where people are put first and you will be exposed to a variety of different disciplines.
Our team enjoy delivering a diverse mix of projects to create fulfilling environment and continually develop new skills. Our primary focus is delivering environmentally sensitive solutions, adopting reuse over building new to mitigate environmental impacts. Our portfolio includes major regional residential projects like the re-development of Alconbury Airfield and a new development at Little Barford, Bedfordshire including interaction with East-West Rail, design support for the continued re-development of Paradise, Birmingham and nationally significant energy projects like the Agratas giga battery plant.
About The Role
Assisting with technical input into a variety of projects, your day to day responsibilities could include:
- Finding the optimum and sustainable design solution for residential infrastructure including drainage and highways.
- Varied design works for residential and commercial schemes using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other industry software.
- Supporting on engineering activities from feasibility all the way through to construction, including the production of detailed calculations, analysis and inspections.
- Assessment risk on projects and undertaking of risk management to mitigate them.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
- Providing technical guidance on civil engineering matters to the wider project team.
- Attending meetings and workshops with clients and members of other disciplines.
We are committed to supporting employees in achieving relevant professional qualifications and accreditation. The applicable professional qualification for this role is IEng or CEng status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

About you
