Are you a talented Senior Planner or Planning Associate looking for your next challenge? We're expanding our highly successful team in the heart of Edinburgh, just a stone's throw from the iconic Edinburgh Castle and excellent transport links. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the city's largest and most dynamic planning teams, contributing to a diverse range of high-profile projects across Scotland.

About the Opportunity

Our Edinburgh office is a hub of expertise, with integrated teams spanning Town Planning, Urban Design, Engineering, Transport, Environmental, Social Value, and Economics. You'll work on exciting projects ranging from large-scale residential and mixed-use developments to energy, commercial, education, and industrial sites. Your work will cover the entire project life cycle, from Development Plan promotion and planning applications to appeals.

We're experiencing significant growth across the Scottish region, and we're looking for passionate individuals to help us develop new opportunities and build on our strong track record.

What You'll Bring

To excel in this role, you'll be:

  • MRTPI qualified.

  •  Possess strong knowledge of current Scottish planning legislation, ideally with experience in residential and energy developments.

  • Experienced in delivering a wide range of planning applications, appeals, and inquiries.

  • A collaborative team player, adept at working effectively with colleagues, clients, contacts, and community stakeholders.

  • Equipped with excellent technical Planning skills.

  • (At Associate level) Proven in shaping, directing, and delivering medium to large-scale projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

As part of our team, you'll be instrumental in:

  • Promoting medium to large-scale residential, mixed-use, energy, industrial, education, and other developments (both brownfield and greenfield) through the Local Development Plan process.

  • Coordinating subsequent planning applications and appeals.

  • Coordinating project teams and managing projects effectively.

  • Conducting feasibility and site appraisals for our diverse client base.

  • Preparing planning and Statements of Community Engagement when required.

  • Supporting the building and maintaining of strong client relationships.
