The Opportunity

Our HR team are looking for a Security Clearance Controller to manage the full lifecycle of personnel security checks across our organisation. This is a crucial role ensuring that employees, contractors, and third‑party partners meet mandatory clearance requirements to work on sensitive and restricted projects.
 

About the role: 

As our Security Clearance Controller, you will be the central point of contact for all vetting activity, managing applications from initial submission through to approval, transfer, renewal, or closure. This includes BPSS, DBS, SC, DV, and EL1 clearances.

You will collaborate closely with government vetting bodies, internal stakeholders, and applicants to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient processing. Alongside this, you will maintain accurate records, support audit activities, and ensure our processes align with governance, security, and data protection standards, including UK GDPR.


Your impact:

In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding the organisation’s ability to operate securely and compliantly. By managing the vetting lifecycle with precision and consistency, you will ensure that only appropriately cleared individuals access sensitive environment - directly supporting operational readiness, reducing organisational risk, and strengthening trust with external partners and clients. Your work will underpin a smooth, transparent, and robust clearance process that reinforces our wider security posture.

 
About You
 
You will bring:
  • Experience in an administrative, security, vetting, HR, or compliance‑based role
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong communication skills and a confident, customer‑focused approach with internal and external stakeholders/partners
  • Excellent data entry and processing capabilities
  • A solid understanding of data protection principles (UK GDPR)
