The Opportunity

Our expanding workload in groundwater resources and hydrogeology-related projects means that we are actively recruiting to support our growing team specialising in these areas. We are seeking energetic and innovative staff who can deliver our solution-oriented services to existing and new clients.

Stantec is looking for a Senior or Principal Hydrogeologist to support and deliver the hydrogeological and environmental aspects of varied projects across the UK. This position offers the potential for experience on a wide range of interesting and challenging projects and strong career growth for an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate. If not already chartered, a significant commitment to obtain chartership is essential, and progress towards this will be fully supported.

As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will be familiar with the regulatory, business, and policy environment in which our clients operate and have the capacity to communicate effectively with them. You will have a Hydrogeology MSc or relevant PhD and/or considerable post-graduate experience in delivering hydrogeology-related projects. Experience of field-based monitoring/sampling and drilling supervision; pumping test supervision and analysis; data analytics, scripting and numerical groundwater modelling; or geochemical modelling and hydrochemical analysis would be considered an advantage.

About You

You will also be expected to share your knowledge with more junior staff and be enthusiastic about learning from more experienced Stantec Hydrogeologists. This position will require you to work within multidisciplinary teams to support projects across the UK and internationally, and may be based in any of our UK offices including, Reading, High Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Glasgow, or Edinburgh.

You must also be able to demonstrate skills in site activities, factual and interpretative reporting, data management, quantitative analysis and effective science communication. The individual will be expected to demonstrate an ability to produce high-quality oral and written communications. Good time management skills and professionalism, along with a flexible attitude, are essential for working within our busy, dynamic team.
