The Opportunity

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a Principal Urban Drainage Modeller to join our specialist team in Scotland, based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, and play a leading role in delivering some of the UK's most significant urban drainage and wastewater modelling programmes.

As an industry leader in network modelling across the UK and Ireland, Stantec partners with major regulated water companies to solve complex infrastructure challenges through technical excellence and innovation. This is an opportunity to influence the direction of projects from strategy through to delivery while helping grow one of the country's leading modelling teams.

You'll join a business that invests in its people, embraces digital innovation and provides clear opportunities to develop both technically and professionally. Whether leading multidisciplinary teams, developing future talent or shaping client relationships, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact across our business and the wider water sector.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Principal Urban Drainage Modeller, you'll provide technical leadership across major programmes, ensuring the successful delivery of complex urban drainage projects while supporting the continued growth of our modelling capability. You'll oversee project planning, technical governance, quality assurance and programme delivery, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally.

Alongside project leadership, you'll mentor and develop engineers and modellers, contribute to strategic client relationships, support business development activities and play an important role in preparing bids and winning new work. You'll help establish best practice, champion innovation and drive continuous improvement across our modelling services.

YOUR IMPACT

Your leadership will directly influence how our clients respond to some of the biggest challenges facing the UK water sector. Through technical excellence and strategic thinking, you'll help deliver resilient infrastructure, improve water quality and support long-term environmental outcomes.

Beyond project delivery, you'll strengthen our technical capability by mentoring future leaders, developing innovative modelling approaches and helping shape the growth of our business. Your expertise will enhance client confidence, support successful framework delivery and contribute to Stantec's reputation as one of the industry's leading urban drainage modelling consultancies.
