We're looking for a Hydraulic Engineer to join our growing team in Reading, Brighton, Leeds, Edinburgh or Warrington. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills while working on nationally significant water and wastewater projects alongside experienced hydraulic specialists and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
You'll gain exposure to complex engineering challenges, develop your expertise across hydraulic modelling and analysis, and play an important role in delivering sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Hydraulic Engineer, you'll support the delivery of hydraulic engineering projects across the full project lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers to develop practical and innovative solutions for our water sector clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of hydraulic studies, calculations and technical assessments.
- Developing and analysing hydraulic models using specialist software such as HADES, VARISM, Flow-3D or equivalent.
- Assisting with steady state and transient analysis, pumping system assessments and hydraulic investigations.
- Preparing technical reports, drawings and engineering documentation.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders.
- Supporting site investigations, design reviews and project delivery activities.
- Developing your technical capability through mentoring, training and hands-on project experience.

ABOUT YOU
Essential
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering or a related discipline.
- An interest in developing a career within hydraulic engineering and the UK water sector.
- Understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulic principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop.
Desirable
- Experience using hydraulic modelling software such as HADES, VARISM, Flow-3D or equivalent.
- Previous experience within the water, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
- Working towards professional accreditation with a relevant institution.
- Experience supporting technical reports, calculations or engineering studies.
