network. Travel to client sites and other Stantec locations may be required.
At Stantec, we bring
together expertise across business consulting, engineering, programme

record across the Energy, Water and Transport sectors, and increasing demand
from our clients, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your consulting
career while supporting some of the UK's most significant investment programmes.
About the Role
As an Design & Engineering Delivery Assistant Consultant, you'll work alongside
experienced consultants and client teams, supporting the delivery of major
projects and programmes throughout the project lifecycle. You'll gain exposure
to a broad range of advisory services, helping clients improve the way projects
are governed, assured and delivered.
Your work may involve
supporting project governance, design assurance, technical coordination,
reporting, action management, change control and continuous improvement
activities within complex delivery environments.
Working across client
environments and advisory assignments, you'll:
- Support the delivery of
projects and programmes from early development and design through to
construction, commissioning and handover.
- Help review, improve and
implement project delivery processes, controls and ways of working.
- Coordinate governance and
assurance activities, including tracking actions, managing evidence and
supporting decision-making processes.
- Support the management of
project information through common data environments and other project
systems.
- Assist clients in managing
scope, risks, assumptions, dependencies and change throughout the project
lifecycle.
- Contribute to the effective
application of NEC contract processes, including early warnings,
compensation events and change management.
- Support planning, cost, risk,
commercial and performance management activities through data gathering,
analysis and reporting.
- Develop reports, dashboards and
governance packs that provide clear insight to project and programme
stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration across
technical teams, contractors, suppliers and client organisations.
- Support organisational change
initiatives, capability-building programmes and the adoption of new ways
of working.
- Contribute to project reviews,
assurance activities and governance assessments.
You'll work closely
with colleagues across our Advisory Services business, supporting clients to
strengthen their capability and successfully deliver large-scale investment
programmes. As part of Stantec's wider Advisory community, you'll also have the
opportunity to explore different service areas and build a diverse consulting
career supported by structured development, training and mentoring.
Your Impact
You'll play an
important role in helping our clients deliver major infrastructure and energy
programmes more effectively. Working alongside experienced consultants and
delivery teams, you'll help coordinate project information, support governance
and assurance activities, improve project controls and contribute to better
decision-making across complex programmes.
This is an opportunity
to build broad consulting and project delivery experience while supporting
projects that shape how communities are powered, connected and served. As your
experience grows, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of advisory disciplines,
developing the skills, knowledge and confidence to make a meaningful
contribution to some of the UK's most significant investment programmes.
About You
We're interested in
hearing from candidates who have already started building their experience
within project or programme delivery
environments, ideally across infrastructure, engineering, utilities,
consultancy or other regulated sectors.
This opportunity is
well suited to someone who is at the beginning
of their career journey and looking to develop their consulting and project
delivery expertise. You may have gained experience through a graduate
scheme, project support role, PMO environment, engineering team or consultancy
setting and are now looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience and
take on greater responsibility.
You may have started
your career in project management, PMO, engineering, design coordination,
project controls, assurance, governance or a similar project delivery
discipline. We're particularly interested in candidates with an engineering background, ideally supported by a
degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical
Engineering, or a related discipline.
You'll have a growing
understanding of how projects progress from early development and design
through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. While you won't
be expected to have led these activities independently, you'll be eager to
learn, develop your capability and gain experience supporting the successful
delivery of complex projects and programmes.
You'll also bring:
- Experience supporting project
delivery activities such as reporting, action tracking, meeting
coordination, risk management, change control or document management.
- Strong organisational skills
and the ability to manage information accurately across multiple
workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills,
with the confidence to work with clients, technical specialists and
project stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills,
particularly in reporting, tracking and structured documentation.
- An analytical and inquisitive
mindset, with a desire to understand challenges, identify improvements and
contribute practical solutions.
- The ability to work
collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and dynamic project
environments.
Experience in design
assurance, requirements management, interface management, governance, common
data environments, project controls or digital delivery tools would be
advantageous, but is not essential.
Ideally, you'll be
working towards, or interested in pursuing, a relevant professional
qualification such as APM, NEC or a
related project delivery accreditation. We'll support your development through
training, mentoring and opportunities to build experience across our Advisory
Services practice.
If you're looking to
build your career in consulting while helping deliver some of the UK's most
important energy and infrastructure programmes, we'd love to hear from you.
