We are a key partner on Northern Ireland Water’s IF182 Professional Services Framework. Our Belfast team also directly supports Uisce Éireann Frameworks, Scottish Water Enterprise—where Stantec was appointed as a primary designer—and a wide range of AMP8 frameworks across the UK.

To support this ongoing growth, we are looking for Civil Engineers at all levels to join our Belfast team and help us deliver transformative, future-proof water infrastructure.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will drive technical excellence by developing robust civil engineering solutions and providing strategic technical advice to major water sector clients. You will direct and support projects from feasibility through detailed design, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Working alongside multidisciplinary experts, you will have opportunities to mentor, guide, and develop junior engineers and technical specialists while advancing your own career through industry-leading professional development tailored to your trajectory.

YOUR IMACT

Joining our Belfast team means delivering vital resilience and environmental schemes across Northern Ireland, Ireland, and the wider UK. You will lead and support projects that:

• Pioneer Nature-Based Solutions: Enhance water quality, significantly reduce storm overflows, and boost local biodiversity.
• Drive Digital Innovation: Advance hydraulic modelling, water recycling, and smart infrastructure engineering.
• Deliver Complex Assets: Support major capital projects across clean water, wastewater treatment, trunk mains, and large-diameter pipelines.

ABOUT YOU

• Qualification: Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Alignment: Chartered or actively working toward chartership with ICE, Engineers Ireland (IEI), or CIWEM.
• Sector Experience: Ideally you will have a background in regulated water/wastewater infrastructure, network design, drainage or treatment assets. Experience in large-diameter pipeline design or trunk mains is a distinct advantage while we will also consider transferrable skills from the infrastructure or energy sector.
• Consultancy Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, and a track record of supporting or mentoring team members.
• Purpose-Driven Mindset: A true passion for sustainable engineering, innovation, and client service excellence.
