The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious Structural Engineer to join our highly regarded, award-winning Civil & Structural engineering team in Bristol. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver exciting projects, supported by a talented team with a collaborative and people-focused culture.

This role is suited to a Structural Engineer who is seeking a fresh challenge. This position provides a clear pathway for career progression, exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on our growing business.

You will join a multidisciplinary environment, with the opportunity to work alongside other successful divisions such as MEP, Fire and Sustainability with projects ranging from £10M-£50M in value across a diverse range of sectors including Education, Residential, Heritage, Healthcare, Commercial and Logistics and Distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate building structures using all major construction materials.
  • Oversee the production of Building Information Models (BIM), drawings, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with design and client teams, ensuring the integration of our designs with other contributions to achieve seamless project outcomes.
  • Undertaking technical design of projects at all stages, engaging and coordinating with other design disciplines.
  • Support projects through construction phases, reviewing contractor-designed elements, conducting site inspections, and responding to queries.
  • Execute change control procedures and conduct thorough reviews of designs and project deliverables.
  • Gain experience in team management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals, bids, and ITTs.

About You

  • MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering. 
  • Actively working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with either the IStructE/ICE.
  • Experience in building structures design across various sectors.
  • Proficiency in analysis, modelling, and hand calculations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
