The Opportunity

You’re an Associate Civil Engineer ready to take a leading role—across projects, people, and client relationships. At Stantec, you’ll join our Cardiff office as part of our Buildings team, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This is a role where you’ll move beyond delivery into leadership, helping shape how projects are run, how teams develop, and how the business grows.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will help lead the delivery of civil engineering projects, maintaining oversight across technical quality, programme, and commercial performance. You’ll guide engineers and technicians, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant, and delivered in line with quality assurance and health and safety standards.

You’ll take responsibility for team and project management, including resource planning, workload allocation, and supporting team development. This includes addressing team challenges, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative environment.

Alongside delivery, you’ll play a key role in client engagement and business development. You’ll build and maintain relationships, support bids and tender submissions, and contribute to securing a sustainable pipeline of work. You’ll also be involved in financial and commercial aspects, including change control, fee management, and project performance.

You will contribute to wider business initiatives, including innovation, technical standards, and divisional task groups, helping to strengthen how the team operates and delivers.

YOUR IMPACT

You’ll influence how projects are delivered across the region—ensuring they are technically robust, commercially sound, and aligned with client expectations. Your work will support developments that are practical, sustainable, and responsive to regulatory requirements.

Internally, your impact will be seen in the capability and direction of the team. By developing engineers, improving processes, and contributing to business growth, you’ll help build a strong, resilient team positioned for continued success.
