Senior Civil Engineer

You’re a Senior Civil Engineer who wants to lead projects, not just contribute to them. At Stantec, you’ll join our Civil Engineering team in Cardiff, working across a range of building development projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This is a role where you’ll take ownership of delivery while influencing how projects are shaped, working closely with clients and design teams to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will lead the delivery of civil engineering projects, taking responsibility for technical quality, programme, and client outcomes. You’ll coordinate design teams, attend project meetings, and ensure designs are aligned with wider project objectives and requirements.

Your work will focus on developing and managing civil design packages, including drainage, levels, and external works, ensuring compliance with SAB requirements and other regulatory standards. You’ll oversee quality assurance across outputs while contributing to technical standards and continuous improvement within the team.

Alongside delivery, you’ll manage client relationships and support the successful progression of projects through key stages, from early design through to approvals and construction.

YOUR IMPACT

You’ll play a key role in delivering developments that shape communities across the region. Your work will influence how sites are designed and brought forward, ensuring solutions are practical, compliant, and aligned with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Internally, your impact will be seen in the consistency and quality of delivery. By contributing to technical standards and supporting collaboration, you’ll help strengthen team capability while continuing to develop your own leadership and project ownership.

ABOUT YOU

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE, or working toward chartership
• Strong experience in civil engineering design for building developments 
• Experience delivering drainage (surface and foul), levels, and highways/external works design
• Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and collaborative platforms 
• Experience leading project delivery, including QA and coordination
• Interested in contributing to technical standards and innovation within the team
