The Opportunity

Join Stantec's industry-leading Urban Drainage Modelling team and help deliver innovative solutions that improve water quality, reduce flood risk, and create more resilient communities across the UK & Ireland. As part of our growing multidisciplinary Water business, you'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning the full project lifecycle, alongside recognised industry specialists who are driving innovation in digital delivery and smart modelling solutions.

Working within a collaborative team of over 175 specialists, you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while contributing to nationally significant infrastructure programmes that make a lasting environmental impact.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Urban Drainage Modeller, you'll lead the technical delivery of hydraulic modelling projects while supporting junior colleagues and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering urban drainage modelling projects from concept through to completion.
  • Developing, calibrating, and analysing hydraulic models using InfoWorks ICM and GIS software.
  • Supporting flood risk, storm overflow, water quality, and catchment modelling studies.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to developing modellers.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and internal disciplines to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • Contributing to the development of digital tools and modelling best practice.

Your work will directly support the delivery of resilient wastewater networks that protect communities and the environment. Through your technical expertise, you'll help clients make informed investment decisions, improve network performance, and address the challenges of climate change and urban growth. You'll also help develop the next generation of modelling professionals by sharing your knowledge and supporting technical excellence across the team.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering urban drainage or wastewater modelling projects.
  • Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and associated GIS software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to mentoring colleagues.

Desirable:

  • Membership of ICE, CIWEM, or another relevant professional institution.
  • Experience delivering flood risk, water quality, storm overflow, or SuDS projects.
